Provas Ltd the pure play VoIP/UC Security, Vulnerability and Performance testing solutions specialist have today announced the signing of an Agreement with VoIPshield Systems of Ottawa Canada the world’s only company dedicated exclusively to protecting IP PBXs and related phone equipment. Voice-over-IP networks are as susceptible to attack as traditional data networks, especially more so as Voice is a real-time application. There are many elements within the enterprise and externally involved in the setting up of calls and transferring of media, each of these elements is potentially susceptible to malicious and illegal activity.
Over the last four years VoIPshield has developed specialised tools to look for and find security holes in all layers of the system. Hackers can mount attacks that exploit combinations of vulnerability, if successfully exploited these could result in losses to the corporation in the form of lost revenues, brand reputation, mitigation expenses, productivity loss and possibly compliance penalties. Under the terms of the agreement between Provas and VoIPshield, Provas will become an authorised reseller of VoIPshield products and a VoIPshield Certified Consultant for the European market. The agreement allows Provas to market VoIPaudit™ the only commercially available VoIP Vulnerability assessment tool as well as a range of VoIP vulnerability and Security assessment services based on VoIPshield’s extensive VoIP Security research, and experience in securing VoIP infrastructures.
“The signing of this agreement with VoIPshield Systems further extends the capability of Provas in the important area of VoIP/Unified Communications Security and Vulnerability assessment; it allows us to offer customers not only a best of breed VoIP vulnerability assessment testing tool but also a range of Professional Services based on VoIPshield’s leadership in the VoIP security space” said Julian Russell Managing Director of Provas.
