London, 29th January 2010: Following last year’s stellar performance , Adconion Media Group, the world’s largest independent online audience network, is gearing up for 2010 by bolstering its UK sales team with new appointments and key promotions.

Adconion saw fantastic performance during 2009, demonstrating 64% growth YoY from December 2008 to December 2009. The company also achieved an all-time high in revenues in November 2009 across the group and following this fantastic performance, Adconion is now set to hire 100 new employees around the globe in 2010.Kicking off the new hires for 2010 is Byron Munson, who will lead the UK sales team as a new account director. Byron brings to Adconion seven years of experience in print and online media sales. Prior to joining Adconion, he spent time in online sales at Advantage Media.

Byron moved to the UK 2 ½ years ago from Sydney, where he was senior account manager with Pacific Magazines, Australia’s largest publisher of lifestyle magazines. During this time, he helped launch Virgin Blue’s (Australia’s 2nd largest domestic airline) ambient advertising products to the Australian marketplace. Byron also spent time with DDB, helping launch 3 Mobile into the Australian marketplace.

Previously, Byron spent two years as national brand manager for McDonald’s Australia, where he led the youth and online team, overseeing a budget of approximately $5,000,000. In this role, Byron developed and executed the online strategy for McDonald’s Australia, including taking the brand from the offline world and creating scalable solutions ranging from production promotions to launching online donation facilities for Ronald McDonald House.

At Adconion, Byron will primarily manage the company’s relationship with agencies within Group M and Aegis. He will also be responsible for managing Adconion’s relationships with Walker Media, Carat, Diffiniti, Mindshare and Mediacom.

Byron will be supported by Chris Holmes, who has been promoted to account manager, and Amy Andrews, who has been hired as a new account executive.

Chris joined Adconion in the summer of 2008 as an account executive.  Since then, he has brought on board several new agency clients, including Strange Corps, Ad Connection, Digital Media Managers, and DWA, and has also helped grow key relationships such as Walker Media and Diffiniti.

Amy was previously worked as a planner with Virgin Media, and at ITV as a sales executive.

Meanwhile, Kayleigh Britland has also been promoted to the role of account manager in the Global Sales Team. Kayleigh joined Adconion as a sales account executive in August 2008. She was previously working as an intern for Microsoft’s multi-national team.
