The Business Continuity Plan (BCP) requires careful planning. It is therefore critical at the onset, to identify and analyse the risks to a business entity and its critical business functions, as well as the various impacts and consequences to the business. Business continuity experts expanded on such areas affecting a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) during the Meet-the-Experts Seminar organised by BCM Institute.
The seminar led by BCM Institute President Dr Goh Moh Heng who has implemented more than 200 BIAs, also shared insights into the pitfalls and key factors in implementing a successful BIA. The highlight of the seminar was a case study presented by BCM Institute’s Business Continuity Certified Expert (BCCE), Mr Navaneetharaj Rajan from DHL Asia-Pacific Services Sdn Bhd. Mr Rajan shared with the participants on the effective implementation of a BIA in an organisation; the BIA processes and documentations as well as his personal experiences.
Participant, Mr Shaik Hussein, Country Manager from VXS Global Network (M) Sdn Bhd expressed that apart from drawing beneficial knowledge from the seminar, the session dually served as a networking and knowledge-sharing opportunity for senior professionals from various industries.
