The CMS Show, which took place recently was a very successful exhibition with more than 15,000 visitors attending. This figure shows an increase of visitors by approximately 10% compared to the previous CMS show in 2009.

SOLUTION Glöckner Marketing Manager, Silke Glöckner, said the exhibition was very successful, not only because it brought in more than 500 leads during the 4 day event. “One of the highlights at our booth was the Cleanaer air purifier / air freshener. It was the first time that we went public. People were very interested in this new kind of physical air cleaning. This type of air cleaning is totally new and exciting, so we had to answer a lot of questions.”

An odour-free version called “Allerg-STOP Cleanaer” was launched at the CMS show. Customers also indicated a demand for a perfumed version to resolve odour issues in bathrooms. “Our launch of Cleanaer was a big success”, concludes Silke.

Das Islandpferde-Festival soll dieses Jahr zwischen 26. März und 2. April stattfinden, und zwar in verschiedenen Veranstaltungsorten in der Hauptstadt Islands, Reykjavik. Das Festival richtet sich an Pferdefreunde jeden Alters, mit Umzügen, Pferdehof-Besuchen, Filmen, Ausstellungen und vielem mehr.

Das Islandpferd ist eine reinrassige Pferderasse mit Anhängern auf der ganzen Welt. Obwohl die ursprüngliche Rasse gemischt war, ist sie heute wegen ihrer Isolation eine der reinrassigsten Pferderassen der Welt. Die Rasse blieb rein für mehr als tausend Jahre und so gibt es heute nur eine einzige Pferderasse in Island. Pferde sind auch ein fester Bestandteil der isländischen Geschichte, denn die Islandpferde können bis auf die Besiedlung Islands im späten 9. Jahrhundert zurückverfolgt werden.

Diese besonderen Pferde sind für ihre außergewöhnlichen Eigenschaften und ihr Exterieur bekannt. Obwohl sie bisweilen als Ponys bezeichnet werden, sind Isländer extrem stark, ausdauernd und muskulös und haben gleichzeitig ein ausgeglichenes Temperament, so dass sie für Reiter jeden Alters geeignet sind. Sie sind äußerst intelligent, gutmütig, vielseitig und schön. Das Islandpferd ist mit über 40 verschiedenen Fellfarben und über 100 Farbvariationen weltweit die farbenfrohste Rasse.

Eines der charakteristischsten Merkmale der Isländer sind ihre Gangarten. Es handelt sich um eine fünfgängige Rasse, die für ihre Trittsicherheit und die Fähigkeit, unwegsames Gelände zu meistern, bekannt ist. Ein Islandpferd verfügt meistens nicht nur über die drei Grundgangarten Schritt, Trab und Galopp, sondern auch über Tölt. Der Tölt ist eine viertaktike Gangart mit hoher Tempovarianz und Geschwindigkeit, gleichzeitig komfortable und raumgreifend.

Das Islandpferde-Festival soll in diesem Jahr zwischen 26. März und 2. April in ganz Reykjavik stattfinden und die Islandpferdezucht feiern. Während des Festivals werden zahlreiche Aktivitäten angeboten. Höhepunkte sind Tölt-Turniere, Ausflüge zu den besten Gestüten Islands, Pferdeshows, Märkte und Handwerk und das „gobbidigobb“ Familienfest, bei dem die ganze Familie Reiten, Kunst und Musikaufführungen in der Innenstadt von Reykjavik genießen kann.

Das Festival-Finale wird ein spannender Eis-Tölt-Wettbewerb, der so genannte „All The Strongest“, in der Reykjaviker Eislaufhalle in Laugardalur. Hier werden die Zuschauer von der „Crème-de-la-Crème“ der Islandpferde verzaubert, die auf dem Eis tölten werden.

Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems will start production for the approximately one million turbochargers per year at the end of 2011.“The customer’s decision honors our efforts to bring a high-quality product to the market at a competitive price”, says Dr. Andreas Prang, Managing Director at Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems responsible for production, purchasing, and quality. “In the past months, Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems established a consistent, process and quality-oriented product development process. Therefore, the development department is able to quickly and flexibly respond to the various customer requirements” adds Dr. Martin Knopf, responsible for development, sales, and finance.

Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems entered new ways in the development with simulation, layout and design and concentrated the product optimization to spontaneous response behavior and low exhaust gas backpressure for the reduction of fuel consumption. With new and highly precise production processes of the rotor and the bearing elements as key components, the turbochargers are placing a benchmark with regard to acoustic behavior and stability. Furthermore, the fully automatic assembly line of the basic unit secures a very high quality level and therefore extraordinary robustness. For the first time, Bosch Mahle Turbosystems uses a functional test which is integrated into the fully automatic assembly for security reasons.

In combination with direct fuel injection, turbochargers make a considerable contribution that the downsized combustion engine becomes much more efficient without performance loss and that CO2 emissions and fuel consumption can be further reduced. An increasing number of car manufacturers concentrate on downsizing concepts in their actual and future engine generations. The need for exhaust gas turbochargers will therefore increase continuously in the coming years.

Start of production from 2011 on
In the past months, Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems made substantial investments: The development location in Stuttgart as well as the production locations in Blaichach/Immenstadt (Germany) and St. Michael (Austria) have been built up. After the ground breaking ceremony in September 2008, a new production hall with a production area of approximately 10,000 square meters is now completed in St. Michael. Currently, major production equipment is being installed so that pre-series exhaust gas turbochargers can be produced on series installations from March 2010.

Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems is a joint venture of Bosch and Mahle and thus participates in the strong understanding of the complete system for combustion engines and in the outstanding know-how in development and high-volume production of engine parts and components. Currently, exhaust gas turbocharger systems for engines in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles are being developed. The company was founded in 2008 and already employs approximately 150 employees.

The conference in London completes the 2009 Corning Data Centre Seminar series, which also visited Munich and Eindhoven. The London Corning Data Centre Seminar will gather professionals involved in the design, operation and management of data centres. In its interactive product fair, Corning Cable Systems will showcase its Pretium EDGE Solutions, which allow for up to 35 percent faster deployment; enable up to 25 percent faster moves, adds and changes (MACs); and offer up to 100 percent more density than traditional preterminated solutions.
