The Florida House Experience has specific programs geared toward men and specific programs geared toward women. The facility believes that treating men and women differently during treatment increases the positive recovery outcomes for both genders. Men and women are housed separately and are treated individually for more effective results.

The Florida House Experience is accredited through the Commission Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and is licensed by the state of Florida to provide residential treatment and sober living to patients learning to cope with drug or alcohol addiction. The staff is comprised of certified medical and clinical professionals who are specifically trained in drug and alcohol rehabilitation. The staff has more than 500 years of combined sobriety, which assists them in providing compassionate care to the residents. Patients from all over the United States are welcome at the facility and will benefit from the unique programs the house offers.

The facility itself is located on three acres of tropical property that is less than a mile from the beach. It is a peaceful environment that allows patients to concentrate on developing a new way of living without drugs or alcohol. The serene and quiet atmosphere is conducive to sober living.

There are several different drug rehabilitation programs available at the Florida House Experience including medical detoxification, intensive outpatient, residential rehabilitation, partial hospitalization and sober living. Each program is highly individualized for each person and will be adjusted as necessary to create a more positive outcome.

The typical journey a patient will take is to begin the recovery process with a medical detox and progress through the phases until he or she is ready to transition to sober living. Sober living is designed to assist patients as they prepare themselves for the real world after living in a safe environment for an extended period of time.

One special program offered by the Florida House Experience is known as the Professional Program. The residential Professionals Program is unique from other programs at other drug rehab center is designed for lawyers, nurses, doctors, pilots and other professionals that require a higher level of privacy and specialized treatment.

Some of the other specialized programs offered at the Florida House Experience include Dual Diagnoses, which is where a mental health disorder is treated alongside the substance abuse, the Family Outreach Program, where family relationships are examined and behavioral changes are addressed and the Aftercare Program, which is put in place because sustained sobriety is a challenge that will need to be addressed for a lifetime.

Patients who seek drug rehabilitation at the Florida House Experience will see a difference from any other facility they have attended. They will be treating the whole person and not just the addiction, which is the key to getting and staying sober.

Robert Matthams, Managing Director of Shiply.com commends the government’s turnaround on fuel duty as well as its increased support of the logistics and delivery sectors.

The past few months have brought unsettling news for the delivery and logistics sectors as well as other road users; proposed increases in taxes and fuel duty were met with swift objections from MP’s and Motoring Associations.

In a move that will benefit large haulage firms and man and van companies alike, George Osborne has scrapped the 3 pence fuel duty rise that was due to hit road users in January, as outlined is his Autumn Statement; as well as reducing future increases planned for August from 5 pence to 3. The turnaround, a result of increasing pressure from those opposed is no doubt a boost for transportation and delivery companies as the now abandoned fuel duty hike would have seen a haulier operating 10 lorries fuel costs soar by £65,000.

Further, the Department for Transport released its November review “The Logistics Growth Review – Connecting People with Goods” detailing proposed plans and investments for the sector for the future. The review outlined a number of favourable changes for the delivery and logistics sectors including:

- £1bn investment in “growth critical roads”
- Securing commercial funding for logistics developments projects
- £4m investment in skills for logistics schemes and improving the image of the sector
- £8m commitment to lower emissions technologies

The investments are expected to “Improve longer term capacity, performance and resilience of congested road and rail networks”

Robert Matthams, Managing Director of Shiply, the online transport marketplace with more than 40,000 transport and removal companies as members, commended the government’s turnaround on fuel duty as well as its increased support of the sector.

“These plans are great news. The logistics business makes up 7% of employment in the UK and with small profit margins (1-3%) it is important that the sector receives support, it’s a huge driver of the economy and I believe it’s significant that the government is trying to create greater confidence for investment. I also think the plans to better the image of the industry is vital, delivery services are enormously important to businesses and customers, so ensuring we invest in apprenticeships, qualifications and encouraging the next generation is key to its continued success.”

The Insights Guide delivers insights into the acceptance of new mobile health services in the developed world. It focuses on one of the fundamental barriers to the adoption of mHealth: human behaviour, by covering four key areas: An overview of mHealth opportunity; Evaluating behaviour to marketed mHealth services; Adopting technology: understanding the challenges for healthcare professionals, and Understanding health psychology and the science of behaviour.

The Insights Guide is part of the Vodafone Health Debate series, launched by Vodafone – known as Vodacom in South Africa – which is a continuing commitment to thought leadership in healthcare. The guide is the first in a series of guides which examine some of the greatest barriers to the adoption of mHealth services. It is positioned to drive the Health Debate forward through fresh perspectives and insights into topical and pivotal themes in the emerging market for mobile health.

Head of Vodafone mHealth Solutions, Axel Nemetz, commented “Our aim is to provide some evidence-based stimulus that will encourage all those working in the different areas of healthcare to consider the innovation opportunities that are now available to them. We believe that real progress can only be initiated when all stakeholders look beyond traditional horizons and share ideas that challenge the status quo so that together we can identify new ways of addressing current issues.”

The mobile health initiative aims to improve healthcare outcomes and quality of life by giving patients and healthcare professionals increased flexibility and freedom, for example, by more effective remote monitoring of patients, the provision and exchange of health related information or improved stock management for pharmaceutical drugs.

Head lice can be an annoying and uncomfortable problem, especially for young children. They feed on blood from the scalp and love the warm, humid conditions close to your head. They most like to be situated behind the ears, along the hairline and at the back of the neck.

Head lice feed on blood which they suck through a needle-like feeding tube – this is not noticeable though. It’s the saliva or poo from the lice that can irritate and cause the itching. That’s when you’ll spot your child scratching! Other signs of head lice are (obviously) feeling something moving in the hair, red bite marks on the scalp, white nits on the scalp or in the hair (including empty nits) and crawling lice of course.

Head lice can however, be effectively treated using medicated lotions or by wet combing, using a specially designed head lice comb. The Linicin range, available online at www.chemist.net, gives you everything you need to get rid of head lice and keep them away. The Linicin range includes a simple 15 minute head lice lotion that kills the lice and their larvae, and prevents the development of their head lice eggs too. Alternatively, there’s a head lice shampoo that is effective in a quick 10 minute treatment. Plus, there’s a head lice preventer spray which can stop you or your child from getting head lice in the first place.

Linicin 15 min Lotion contains 99% dimethicone, which blocks the lice’s uptake of oxygen, thus suffocating them. This form of treatment means that the head lice cannot build up any resistance to the product, unlike insecticidal treatments. Linicin 15 min Lotion is also suitable for the whole family and can be used on children from the age of 6 months, as well as by mothers during pregnancy and when breastfeeding.

Linicin 10 min Shampoo is an efficient, non-toxic and mild shampoo that eliminates head lice and impedes the development of nits. It is colourless with a neutral scent and can be used in adults and children from the age of two. Linicin 10 min Shampoo is easy to use, works within 10 minutes and is rinsed out using lukewarm water only. Treatment needs to be repeated after 9-10 days.

Linicin Prevent Spray is a head louse repellent, that prevents head lice infestation in an effective and safe way. It makes your hair ‘invisible’ to head lice. Linicin Prevent Spray can be used on adults and children from the age of two. Linicin Prevent Spray is non-toxic and does not contain any insecticides so is safe to use every day during high risk periods. The spray is mild and colourless with a neutral scent; simply spray onto dry hair, no need to rinse out.

Argiz has served as the United Way of Miami-Dade’s past chairman of the board and past campaign chair.

United Way of Miami-Dade Tocqueville Society members are individuals and families who contribute at least $10,000 a year to better the community through United Way. Last year alone, the 657-member United Way Tocqueville Society contributed nearly $17 million dollars to better the community through United Way. The society was named after Alexis de Tocqueville, a French immigrant who wrote extensively about the unique spirit of voluntarism he witnessed in America during the 1800′s. The award is presented annually to individuals who have rendered outstanding service as a volunteer, demonstrated sustained philanthropy and inspired others to do likewise.

“I learned the importance of giving at an early age. I got involved with the United Way nearly 20 years ago,” said Argiz. “They do so much for the community on such a broad spectrum, and I truly believe in the work they do and how they impact people’s lives.”

Argiz received the award during the United Way Tocqueville Grand Reception at the Coral Gables Estates home of Constance and Mike Fernandez in front of more than 350 of Miami’s most generous givers. Unique to this year, United Way Worldwide hosted its annual Million Dollar Roundtable weekend in Miami, and 20 philanthropic couples from around the country, leaders in their own communities and respective fields of business, were also in attendance.

Argiz has been recognized as a community and business leader with various awards including one of the “Top Five Most Admired Peers” by INSIDE Public Accounting 100, 2011 Alumni of the Year by FIU’s School of Accounting, the Neal J. Menachem Memorial Award by the Miami-Dade/Broward County State of Israel Bonds and the Miami Coalition of Christians and Jews Silver Medallion Humanitarian Award. He has also been recognized with the Top CPAs in Litigation Support, Key Partners in Litigation Support Award, Hispanic Heritage Award, Business of the Year Award, Ultimate CEO and Excellence in Accounting for Litigation Support, to name a few.

Argiz is also active in other civic and key industry organizations including serving as past president and chair of the Orange Bowl Committee, past chairman of the Miami Dade College Foundation, past chairman of the Council of 100 at Florida International University, Executive Committee member of The Beacon Council, chair of the Board of Trustees at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, and board member of AvMed Health Plans. He has served on the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Nominations Committee, on the governing body of the AICPA’s Council and on the PCP Executive Committee and its Technical Issues Committee. In 1986, Tony was appointed to Florida’s Board of Accountancy and was then elected to chair the board and chaired its Probable Cause Panel as well. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Conchi is involved with Belen Jesuit Preparatory School and Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart. She is also a member of Junior League of Greater Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Golden Angels. Both husband and wife are members of the Tocqueville Society.

Travel retailer World Duty Free (WDF) Group reportedly celebrated Hindu festival of Diwali at key United Kingdom airports complete with Bhangra dancers and singers and dholis (dhol drum players).

Dressed in traditional folk clothing, these performers energized Heathrow and Birmingham international airports throughout the afternoon and evening, while the WDF’s video screens featured Diwali messages and related content. Many passengers at these airports joined the dancers in the merriment and took to the floor, reports suggest.

The purpose, according to reports, was “to bring the energy, excitement and colour” of Diwali season. It was kind of “instore theater” where the customers were treated to something “unexpected, inspiring and entertaining”, reports said.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, commended WDF and its parent company Autogrill for patronizing Diwali and spreading its joy. He urged other major companies of the world to put Diwali celebrations on their annual calendar of sponsored events.

Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, suggested exploration of rich philosophy which Hinduism offered.

Founded in 1997, WDF aims to “offer the ultimate airport shopping experience” and claims to be “UK’s leading travel retailer” featuring over 17,000 products in its 87 stores at 23 terminals in Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Southampton, etc. It is member of Milan (Italy) headquartered Autogrill Group.

Diwali, the festival of lights, is the most popular Hindu festival and aims at dispelling the darkness and lighting up the lives and symbolizes the victory of good over evil. Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about billion adherents and moksh (liberation) is its ultimate goal.

She wasted no time tackling the countless challenges within the sector.

He continued to say, “I doff my hat to Madueke for the way and manner she has injected life and restored confidence in the petroleum sector.”

News Report:

ABUJA, NIGERIA — Whilst Nigeria’s first female oil minister Diezani Alison-Madueke faces what seems a coordinated campaign against her, President Goodluck Jonathan is still highly regarding her as a possible name for the next screening of ministerial nominees.

Alison-Madueke was appointed as Minister of Petroleum Resources on April 6, 2010 and is now considered a historic moment in Nigerian politics. Apart from being Nigeria’s first female oil minister, she was also the only feminine voice amongst the male dominated Organisation of Petroleum-Exporting Countries (OPEC).

Alison-Madueke’s appointment to the position came at a time of great challenge as the Federal Government aimed to overhaul the sector to deliver maximum benefit to the nation. Prominent amongst the agenda was the provision of gas for electricity generation, transforming the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and its subsidiaries into profit-making outfits, improve investment in sector, deregulation of the domestic petroleum products market and resolution of youth restiveness in the Niger Delta.

Before being made Minister of Petroleum Resources, Alison-Madueke was appointed Minister of Transportation by Jonathan’s predecessor, President Umaru Yar’Adua. She served in that capacity from July 26, 2007 to December 17, 2008 before moving to the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development from December 23, 2008 to March 17, 2010.

Alison-Madueke came into Yar’Adua’s government in 2007 from her position as an executive director with Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC). Often regarded as a ‘Shell girl’ having grown up with her parents who were employees of the oil company, the minister was armed with enough knowledge and know-how on matters concerning petroleum resources.

A graduate of architecture in England and Howard University in the United States, she worked for some years in the U.S. before returning to Nigeria in 1992 to work for her father’s old employer. She rose to become Shell’s first female director in Nigeria, completing an MBA at Cambridge University along the way.

As petroleum minister, Alison-Madueke got the President’s approval to supervise the NNPC, Department for Petroleum Resource (DPR) and the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA). After the approval was given, she replaced key officials with those she trusted.

In the face of harsh criticism, Alison-Madueke is promising to continue the reforms which she argues has engendered transparency in the oil and gas sector and denied “rent-seekers” the opportunity to continue “business as usual.”

As the date for the announcement of new ministers draws closer, Mrs. Alison-Madueke is putting up a fight as there have been counter-advertorials published in the media by her associates.
